IF ON A WINTER’S NIGHT A TRAVELLER (NẾU MỘT ĐÊM ĐÔNG CÓ NGƯỜI LỮ KHÁCH) – Italo Calvino

A beautiful title caught my eyes. Immediately I bought the English version, however, it was somehow too complicated for me to comprehend the novel thoroughly in English. I had to order the Vietnamese version. It was not easy, since its publication was long ago. I had to wait for a while. And it was worth the wait. A novel on the beginnings of everything. It’s not about the contents of each beginning, but about the feeling it brought to us when we engage into the beginning of something. The novel impressed me. Even just a title – that subtle beginning of something could impact us tremendously. Think it over again, I even see perhaps the beginnings are the most delicate, beautiful, fragile moments that we really may miss them soon, unless we cherish it in a slightly different way than normal…
